As HWF readers may recall, a broken arm last fall turned me into a person who eats a lot of junk food. Don’t judge—having only my non-dominant hand to bring meals to my mouth left me with mostly easy-to-eat pizza. Happily, those days are now behind me, and my fully functional right hand has a dietary say.

But a different problem has confronted me, one that I bet is familiar to us all. Dietary health covers a broad spectrum of types of food, right? Well, how do we get a handle on that? Trying to pin it down in massively stocked grocery aisles is confusing.
